Being a mechanic is like being a doctor - but for cars. From the inexperienced 16-year-old drivers who have let their engines leak for a little too long to the DIY car guy who thinks he can solve the problem himself, only making it worse, mechanics have seen it all. You never know what kind of customer is going to come to the shop that day. It could be a car that hasn't been serviced in so long it makes you cringe or a car that's been in a fender bender. But one thing is for sure: being a mechanic is a really rewarding career. As a mechanic, you are thrown all different kinds of cars from all different decades. You have to examine every nut and bolt to diagnose the heck out of what's making that strange noise. It takes a lot of patience, skill, and a good sense of humor to get through the day. Because let's face it, sometimes the problems are just plain silly. Like the time a customer came in with a car that wouldn't start, and it turned out they were out of gas.
